Overview

The work performed by The RMR Group’s Development Team spans all major regions of the United States and involves a broad range of project types, including mixed-use, office, life science, hotel, industrial, retail and multi-family. This is a dynamic, highly collaborative group that is responsible for building everything from large, master-planned urban neighborhoods to standalone retail structures. The Intern will function as a substantive member of  the Development Team, preparing site analysis, conducting market research and financial modeling, and generally assisting project teams engaged in the design, permitting and construction of development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with property and market research.
  • Conduct “highest and best use” analysis to identify potential development opportunities within the RMR portfolio.
  • Participate in meetings and calls with project teams, thereby gaining exposure to all aspects of the development life cycle, including preliminary assessments of project viability, financial analysis, architecture/design/urban planning, government approvals, leasing and construction.
  • Complete ad hoc projects and analysis as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver presentation to the Development Team regarding a development-related issue.
  • Gather and evaluate diligence materials for development projects.
  • Provide reception desk coverage on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated interest in real estate development. 
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Currently a student at an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite.
  • Experience with Yardi and ARGUS a plus.
