Overview

We are looking to hire a Data Analyst (Power BI) to join our Applications team. The incumbent will be responsible for managing our data sets, developing visualizations, reports and dashboards, and troubleshooting data issues. To succeed in this role, you will need a strong attention to detail, experience as a data analyst, and a deep understanding of databases and Microsoft’s reporting tools.  

 

This role will require both creative and collaborative working with IT and the wider business. It will involve evangelizing effective data management practices and promoting a better understanding of data and analytics. The Data Analyst will also be tasked with working with key business stakeholders, IT experts, and commercial real estate experts to plan and deliver optimal analytics and data science solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze data from various sources to understand business requirements
  • Design and develop PowerBI visualizations and reports that meet business needs and provide actionable insights
  • Present dashboards to stakeholders and deliver clear, actionable report analyses.
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all PowerBI reports and dashboards
  • Implement best practices for data security, privacy, and access controls
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to PowerBI reports and dashboards
  • Continuously monitor the performance of PowerBI visualizations and make improvements as necessary
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest PowerBI features and best practices, and recommend new approaches and solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations
  • Works collaboratively with Application development teams throughout the product development process, to ensure optimal usage of SQL Server for storage and transaction processing
  • Participate in logical and technical design, and peer code reviews, unit test design, and documentation of code developed.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Agile software development, and apply this knowledge to improve project delivery
  • Mentor and coach other analysts in the team as needed

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, data management, information systems, information science, or a related quantitative field or equivalent work experience is required.
  • 5+ years of experience with PowerBI and Business Intelligence visualizations
  • Proficient in DAX for creating insightful Power BI dashboards and data models
  • Experienced in designing and optimizing data models for scalable analytics
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
  • Familiarity with data warehousing, data mining, and data modeling concepts
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy
  • Experience with the Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence stack (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS), and Excel/Power Query
  • Ability to apply DevOps principles to data pipelines to improve the communication, integration, reuse, and automation of data flows between data managers and consumers across an organization
  • Commercial real estate industry knowledge or previous experience would be a plus.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with cloud data management and analytics in a multi-cloud environment using Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon AWS is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
