Overview

The PropTech Infrastructure Technician is responsible for supporting the deployment, administration, and ongoing operation of property technology across commercial and residential assets. This role will be critical in ensuring new rollouts are timely and successful through engagement with internal and external stakeholders. This role requires strong technical aptitude, project coordination skills, vendor management experience, and a customer-service mindset to support critical business systems that directly impact residents, customers, onsite teams, and company revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the deployment of Connected Communities (Smart Home) program, which may include smart locks, access control, video intercoms, community-wide managed networks, package lockers, and more
  • Drive adoption and engagement in partnership with onsite teams, operations, marketing, engineering, and asset services in an effort to drive leasing activity
  • Monitor system health, user provisioning, and platform documentation as security patches and firmware upgrades roll out; Coordinate test plan and corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues; Coordinate service tickets and escalations with vendors; Manage incidents through resolution
  • Maintain telecom inventory for Commercial and Residential; Assist in processing monthly recurring billing; Investigate any billing discrepancies and disputes
  • Assist with any acquisition / disposition activities for assets on Commercial and Residential; Includes inventory assessment, equipment recovery, account transfers, and service disconnects

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, Business or related discipline
  • 4–6 years of experience supporting technology at an Infrastructure level; Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Wireless protocols, ISP service delivery, VoIP, and network connectivity
  • Experience deploying and supporting PropTech solutions, including access control systems, smart locks, video intercoms, managed Wi-Fi networks, package management solutions, IoT devices, or related platforms
  • Experience coordinating with third-party technology vendors, internet service providers, and managed service providers to resolve service interruptions and technical issues; Manage support tickets, incident response, escalations, root cause analysis, and issue resolution through closure
  • Strong analytical, organization, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Commercial and Residential assets, as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within commercial real estate (CRE), multifamily housing, REITs, property management, or hospitality environments
  • Knowledge of multifamily technology ecosystems and integrations with PMS or CRM
  • Familiarity or hands-on experience with AI tools or large language models, such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini Enterprise or OpenAI
  • Project management experience coordinating cross-functional teams, technology deployments, and portfolio-wide initiatives.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, dispositions, due diligence activities, technology integrations, account transfers, and service migrations
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, ITIL Foundation, CCNA, PMP, Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), or equivalent

The estimated base compensation range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 per year. RMR considers several components including an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market data
